Highly do not recommend studying here. I was wrongly overcharged close to $30k on my help loan. The institute lies about it to the ombudsman saying I deferred a semester late which is completely untrue. There was no career support and a lot of empty/ false promises. Go to TAFE NSW instead. Avoid this place at all costs.

It would have been helpful if there were more recent reviews. My child is hating every moment of this course. They started out with so much excitement and enthusiasm...it breaks my heart to see them so disillusioned. This course is WAYY too expensive and for what? Teachers who treat the students like children, favouritism and lack of encouragement, just to name a few issues. The worst thing is there is NO work experience, placement or even CAREERS advisors available.

I appreciate your prompt response, however, I hope that this condescending tone is not used on your students. As a parent, if I can see that there is something amiss, I will endeavour to find out why. I did call the school and I have left my concerns.
Anything that I have mentioned above has come from my child, friends and ex students.
Also, volunteering for Fashion Week and applying for a Vogue internship can be done independently of your institute.

I am a recent graduate of Whitehouse. I studied fashion design and have completed my bachelors degree at the end of 2022. I started my degree part time in June 2020 and went full time in 2021. My 2 and a half years at Whitehouse were absolutely amazing, I learnt so much from the course not only for my industry but also about my own capabilities and how hard work creates amazing things. I had the most wonderful and knowledgeable design and workshop teachers that’s made a massive impact on my skills. The courses at Whitehouse are truely unmatched and being able to go to uni and feel known and cared for is such a big plus here, you are not treated as a number as you are at other universities and the teachers genuinely care about your needs and want to help you strive for success. The gorgeous Sydney campus is just a bonus! I would give Whitehouse 10 stars if I could!!

Currently studying my final year of Fashion Design at Whitehouse in Sydney. Throughout the duration of my course I have been given the opportunity to meet and work with an incredible variety of individuals including my peers and academic staff, including the incomparable Akira Isogawa. Whitehouse is the product of pure dedication and ingenuity giving students creative control and authority unlike any other institute in Australia. Leanne Whitehouse has been incredibly supportive and encouraging to me from the moment I meet her. Leanne has given me the confidence to believe in my designs and despite her incredibly hectic schedule always has time for me. Likewise, I have to give great praise to the wonderful work of our first and second year pattern making and fashion construction teachers. Both of whom are extremely devoted to their students going above and beyond the required to ensure we build an extensive range of skills and are comfortable in doing so. Finally, I have to mention our wonderful librarian Di for her caring and supportive nature to all.

I loved my time at Whitehouse! The teachers were amazing and really supportive. I loved being in such a creative space and seeing how everyone interprets each design brief and develops their individual design style. In our subjects: Design, Workshop, Illustration, Digital, and Contexts, we learnt about all stages of design, with each subject working together to develop and realise our designs and skills. It is high pressure and fast paced but if you are willing to work hard you will learn so much. I have benefitted from this degree more than I ever imagined and I am now confident and excited to work in the fashion industry!

I met Leanne Whitehouse more than 30 years ago when I was at TAFE studying fashion design.
I remember that she was not only a brilliant teacher but also, a genuinely kind and a generous human being. Leanne has a passion and commitment to training, teaching and mentoring her new talents.
No wonder that her establishment, Whitehouse Institute of Design has been so successfully running for decades.
More recently, I have been working with Leanne mentoring her students and it is my pleasure being so involved and working together.
To me, she is forever inspiring and I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for having me at her school. Also, I would like to thank her for believing in me throughout my career.

I'm a graduate student of Whitehouse. Over the 2 years I studied here, I definitely got a lot of hands-on experience as well as professional knowledge. We have a lot of great teachers here who are always there for us students when we need them. The thing I love the most about our school is that we're free to express our ideas, which is the most important thing about fashion design. Our teachers are open to every single idea and they'd love to help us to achieve what we want.
Wherever I go in the future, I'll always take the time I spent at Whitehouse with me.

I graduated from Whitehouse Institute of Design in 2015 studying Creative Direction and Styling. I now live and breath a successful career in NYC in the fashion industry and owe it completely to my time at Whitehouse. Under the influence of Leanne Whitehouse and her remarkable team of teachers and lecturer's I know first hand that I received the most articulate and absolute best education one can hope for. Each day marked new knowledge and skills becoming available to each and every student and the exposure of industry experience we received whilst studying was tremendous. Whitehouse is where I not only nurtured and furthered my talents and creative skill set but also incredible friendships which I hold so dear to this day. You could not ask for a more outstanding environment to see your studies through.
