Das Ruppiner Forst und Seegebiet liegt zwischen den Städten Lychen und Fürstenberg/Havel in der Uckermark. Die genauen Koordinaten lauten 53°13'22.6"N 13°03'24.2"E. Der nächste Bahnhof ist Lychen, von dem aus man mit dem Bus oder dem Fahrrad weiterreisen kann. Es gibt auch einen behindertenfreundlichen Parkplatz direkt am Eingang des Naturschutzgebiets.

This is a wonderful area. There are lots of trees and nice walkways. The lake is close and lovely to swim in the summer. It is not very crowded. Nice sand on the beach and some places in the area to get food. We went the the family, including young children and we all had fun

Wonderful nature reserve to calm down and enjoy tranquility. Close to Berlin, hence perfect for weekend breakout out of city life.
It's easy to reach by train from Hennigsdorf to Neuruppin or by train from Lichtenberg to Rheinsberg or Gransee. For enthusiasts there is an old steam train leaving from Lichtenberg to Rheinsberg in summer season, rarely and on weekends only. Check it out.
Once you arrived you have dozens of lakes and forestal walk paths you can decide between. I recommend to get a map and make a proper planning in advance since the area is huge and wide spread.
Relying on bus traffic please note that this is not Berlin. Bus transfers usually end latest at 6 till 7pm.
