The Badische town of Badenweiler is a perfect weekend getaway. It has everything you need for a relaxing weekend. Baths, castle ruins, a wonderful hiking trail, a little shopping, restaurants and nice hotels.

Just off the beaten path of A5 and in the heart of the Schwarzwald you'll find this precious little town. In a valley surrounded by vineyards and hills the history here is really old as well highlighting one of the oldest Roman Bath ruins too.

Ein schön gelegener Bade- und Kurort unweit von Freiburg gelegen hat neben seiner Hauptattraktion, der alten römischen Baderuine die daneben liegenden Cassiopeia-Therme, ein ausgezeichnetes Wellness - und Badeparadies. Hinzu kommt ein Kurpark der sich als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen in die Umgebung oder auch zur nahegelegenen Badenburg anbietet. Eindrucksvoll ist auch das großzügige Festspielhaus mit Infothek und einem kleinen interessanten Museum zur Bergbaugeschichte der Region. Hierzu gehört auch der Museumssalon am Tschechow-Platz zu Ehren des russischen Schriftstellers Anton Tschechow, der hier einige Jahre gelebt hat. Insgesamt ist Badenweiler ein sehenswerter Ort mit zahlreichen imposanten älteren Gebäuden, die auch auf den vielleicht inzwischen vergangenen Reichtum des Ortes hinweisen.
